For an ideal dilute solution, $Math - text$ is the integral of $Math - text$ (given by the following equation) across the boundary between two regions of different concentrations.

where $Math - text$ is the diffusion coefficient of species $Math - text$ , $Math - text$ is the charge number of species $Math - text$ , $Math - text$ is the concentration of species $Math - text$ , $Math - text$ is the gas constant, $Math - text$ is the thermodynamic temperature, and $Math - text$ is the Faraday constant.
