The measure (\(\text{h}^{-1}\),\(\text{d}^{-1}\)) of the rate of growth or multiplication of an organism or a culture, usually expressed as specific growth rate (the increase of mass or cell number per time unit referred to the unit of mass, \(\frac{\text{d}(\ln X)}{\text{d}t}\)).
