laser Raman microanalysis (LRMA)

https://doi.org/10.1351/goldbook.L03477
Any technique in which a specimen is bombarded with a finely focused laser beam (diameter less than 10 µm) in the ultraviolet or visible range and the intensity versus wavelength function of the Raman radiation is recorded yielding information about vibrational states of the excited substance and therefore also about functional groups and chemical bonding.
