medium effect
The medium effect on ionic species B due to transfer from solvent Math - ei to solvent Math - ei (number) is defined by
Math - e
where Math - symbol is the gas constant, Math - symbol is the thermodynamic temperature and Math - symbol is the standard chemical potential of B in solvent Math - ei (where Math - ei = 1 or 2), the reference states being the same in both solvents. Math - ei is not an exactly measurable quantity.
