Macromolecules, the major organic matter of the nuclei of biological cells, made up of
nucleotide units, and hydrolysable into certain
pyrimidine or
purine bases (usually adenine, cytosine, guanine, thymine, uracil),
d-ribose or 2-deoxy-
d-ribose and phosphoric acid.
