The reciprocal of the photon fluence rate, Math - ei, at wavelength Math - text, causing identical photoresponse, Math - ei, per unit time (Math - ei). The effectiveness spectrum is directly proportional to the conversion spectrum of the sensory pigment, if spectral attenuance is negligible.
