Ratio expressing the efficiency of a mass conversion process. The yield coefficient is defined as the amount of cell mass ( $Math - text$ ) or product formed ( $Math - text$ , $Math - text$ ) related to the consumed substrate (carbon or nitrogen source or oxygen in $Math - text$ or $Math - text$ ) or to the intracellular ATP production ( $Math - text$ ).
