Ratio expressing the efficiency of a mass conversion process. The yield coefficient is defined as the amount of cell mass (Math - text) or product formed (Math - text, Math - text) related to the consumed substrate (carbon or nitrogen source or oxygen in Math - text or Math - text) or to the intracellular ATP production (Math - text).
