Derivatives of the parent structure H2N+(O)OH, of which the alkylidene derivatives, R2C=N+(O)OH (tautomers of nitroalkanes), are the most commonly encountered. The alkylideneazinic acids are known as nitronic acids or, synonymously as aci-nitro compounds, e.g. CH2=N+(O)OH methylideneazinic acid.
