Distinctions should be made between coarse particulate carbon or @G02682@ (larger than about \(100\ \unicode[Times]{x3BC}\text{m}\), but smaller than about \(1\ \text{cm}\) in average size), fine particulate carbon or powder or flour (between \(1\) and \(100\ \unicode[Times]{x3BC}\text{m}\) in average size) and @C01173@ (below approximately \(1\ \unicode[Times]{x3BC}\text{m}\) in size in at least one direction), e.g. @C00824@ and @C01173@.
