A process caused by @S05895@, @T06492@ (or adsorbing) metallic atoms, gas atoms or molecules on the walls of the vessel or @A00370@. This has the effect of reducing the gas pressure in sealed lamps, and may be useful for cleaning up or gettering unwanted gases.
