Used in the thermal @D01547@ of heavy (high @M04000@) @H02889@ to smaller (low @M04000@) @H02889@; high pressures of hydrogen and a special @C00876@ are employed. Sulfur compounds in the fuel are reduced to H2S, and the final hydrocarbon product can be obtained relatively sulfur-free.
