A hemeprotein which catalyses the @[email protected] of dihydrogen peroxide to O2, and water; it also catalyses the @[email protected] of other compounds, such as ethanol, by dihydrogen peroxide.
Note:
A non-hemeprotein containing a dinuclear managanese @[email protected] with catalase activity is often called pseudocatalase.
