Ribosyl or deoxyribosyl derivatives (rarely, other glycosyl derivatives) of certain @[email protected] or @[email protected] They are thus @[email protected] or [email protected]@ related to @[email protected] by the lack of @[email protected] It has also become customary to include among nucleosides analogous substances in which the @[email protected] is attached to carbon rather than nitrogen ('C-nucleosides').
