In the detailed description of @[email protected] transfer reactions, especially of rapid @[email protected] transfers between electronegative atoms, it should always be specified whether the term is used to refer to the overall process (including the more-or-less @[email protected] formation of a hydrogen bonded complex and the separation of the products; see @[email protected]) or just to the @[email protected] transfer event (including solvent @[email protected]) by itself.
