Endonucleases which recognize specific base sequences within a @[email protected] @[email protected], creating a double-strand break of @[email protected] Type I restriction @[email protected] bind to these @[email protected] but subsequently cut the @[email protected] at different sites. Type II restriction @[email protected] both bind and cut within their recognition or target sites.
