Process by which the @[email protected] emitted in a @[email protected] is absorbed and re-emitted many times in the plasma prior to striking the phosphor. This process is called radiation @[email protected] or imprisonment.
Note:
Radiation @[email protected] lengthens the effective @[email protected] of emission as viewed from outside the @[email protected] The control of this @[email protected] is, therefore, an important design consideration for low-pressure lamps.
