sedimentation potential difference (sedimentation potential)

Synonym: Dorn effect
https://doi.org/10.1351/goldbook.S05538
The potential difference \(E_{\mathrm{sed}}\) or \(E\) at zero current caused by the @S05534@ of particles in the field of gravity or in a centrifuge, between two identical electrodes at different levels (or at different distances from the centre of rotation). \(E\) is positive if the lower (peripheral) electrode is negative. This is also called the Dorn effect.
