The atmospheric shell lying just above the @T06522@ which is characterized by an increasing temperature with altitude. The stratosphere begins at the @T06521@ (about \(10{-}15\ \text{km}\) height) and extends to a height of about \(50\ \text{km}\), where the lapse rate changes sign at the @S06042@ and the beginning of the @M03855@.
