In general, two cells arranged in a @[email protected] configuration detect the change in @[email protected] of the gas at the output of the column. This detector is sensitive to any substance with @[email protected] different from that of the @[email protected] The lowest detectable limit is between $$0.5$$ and $$100\ \text{ppmv}$$. The linear dynamic range is of the order of $$10^{3}$$. This type of detector is often used for measuring components at relatively high concentrations.
