A CW pulsed @[email protected] emitting radiation from excited Nd3+ principally occurring around \(1.06\ \unicode[Times]{x3BC}\text{m}\) (the precise position depends on the matrix). The Nd3+ is present as a @[email protected] in suitable crystals (e.g. yttrium–aluminium garnet, YAG) or in suitable glasses (phosphate, silicate, etc.).
